You Are Not Alone.
And You Are Not Weak.
If you are a man carrying shame, confusion, or wounds from your past — there is a path forward.
If you love a man who is struggling — there is a way to support him.
If You’re the Man Carrying This
You may not have words for what happened. You may have buried it so deeply that you convinced yourself it no longer matters. You learned how to function, how to perform, how to stay strong. On the outside, you built a life. On the inside, something still feels unsettled.
Shame. Anger. Anxiety. Numbness. Depression. Isolation. Addiction. Struggles with intimacy. A short temper. A constant edge you can’t explain. You may tell yourself it’s just stress. You may tell yourself to move on. You may believe it shouldn’t affect you anymore. But when trauma is never processed, it does not disappear. It manifests.
It shows up in relationships. It affects leadership. It impacts marriage. It influences how you see yourself and how you relate to God. Many men carry this silently for decades, believing strength means suppression. But silence is not strength. Avoidance is not healing.
What happened to you was not your fault. And the fact that it still impacts you does not make you weak. It makes you human. Facing it is not surrender — it is courage. Real strength is the willingness to confront what has been hidden.
The resources below are here to help you take your next step, privately and safely. Whether that step is professional counseling, confidential support, faith-based healing, or simply learning more about how trauma affects men, you do not have to navigate it alone. Healing is possible. Freedom is possible. Peace is possible.

If You Love a Man Who Is Hurting
You may sense something is wrong.
You may feel shut out.
You may not know what to say.
Here’s how you can help:
• If he opens up understand that this is a very important moment, do not try and fix him., Believe him, trust him and hold it with him. This is more than likely one of the most venerable moments of his life and he is in serious pain and hurt. He has shared with you because he loves and trusts you. What he has done is rare and he is very strong for opening up.
• Don’t force disclosure. He simply needs to know that you love him and there for him if and when he is ready to share. It’s likely he is thinking you will think differently of him and view him as weak. Again, do not push this. It must be in his time.
• Encourage professional support or share with him about me and my story with The Breaker. It will be normal that he may not feel comfortable initially in going to get professional help. When and if he is ready then help him find the perfect match. Someone who specializes in Childhood trauma work, someone who works with men who have experienced this and if faith is a big element, then someone that is also teaching Christian principles.
• Create emotional safety, this is very important. Him home must be a safe place for him to open up, to breakdown, to share. He is carrying what feels like the weight of the World, he has to feel safe in the home.
• Access support resources for yourself, many time we see that the more healing the spouse gets in their own journey, the more equipped they are to be by that mans side during his journey. A more healed version of you will help him and the kids.
